West Virginia Adult Education Association, Inc.
Mission
The West Virginia Adult Education Association (WVAEA), Inc. supports the development of life-long learning in West Virginia by unifying interested individuals and groups; encouraging participation in local, state, and national conferences; and taking an advocacy role in adult education legislation. Membership is open to all institutions, businesses, organizations, students, and individuals interested in the field of adult education and literacy.
Activities
Annual Awards
Awards are presented annually to the WVAdultEd Student of the Year, Adult Full-time/Part-time Program of the Year, SPOKES Student of the Year, SPOKES Large/Small Program of the Year, ESOL Student of the Year, and Adult Education Collaborative Partner of the Year. Award nominations are open July 1-June 1 so that nominations may be made throughout the year. Click here for award nomination forms.
Professional Development
WVAEA, Inc. sponsors the annual West Virginia Adult Education Association, Inc. fall conference to provide professional development opportunities for adult educators and their partners. WVAEA, Inc. also sponsors other training opportunities for adult educators throughout the state for non-degree, graduate credit.

Membership
The West Virginia Adult Education Association, Inc. provides leadership to the development of adult education in West Virginia. It serves the following functions:
* Improves the quality of education for students
* Unifies individuals and groups concerned with adult education
* Publicizes recent knowledge as well as new techniques and methods that facilitate adult
learning
* Promotes professional growth through appropriate workshops, meetings, and local, state,
or national conferences
Membership is open to all institutions, businesses, organizations, students, and individuals interested in the field of adult education and literacy.
