WVAEA, Inc. scholarship goes to help fund GED graduation On February 15, 2013 more than one hundred parents, guardians, students, and educators converged on the Wayne County Multi-Purpose Center to celebrate the graduation of 16 people who received their high school equivalency diplomas. This was the second graduation of the year and was 50 percent larger than the first. The previous graduation, hosted in December, totaled approximately 50 people. Dinner and music were provided, and several educators spoke to the crowd about students continuing their educations through financial means, perseverance and attendance. Student of the Month and Student of the Year awards were given based on attendance, hard work, and TABE assessment growth from preliminary, interim, and exit scores. The night ended with graduation plaques awarded to all who passed. |
